Title: Seeker 6455XXH
Post by: Jon Vadney on September 25, 2014, 08:29:33 PM
Haven't built a true-to-form standup rod in a while.  It's been mostly rail rods and boat rods.  Seeker 6455XXH, acid wrapped with fuji BHBNG's.

I was web seaching if a true standup rod could be acid wrapped and found this rod for the Master Jon from AT.com, how cool its that, hu?

my main concern was because of the short lenght of the blank, this one is 5.6ft and Im planning to build a 6ft trolling/stand-up rod.

I was wondering if just 3 guides facing down would be enough to make the rod really spiral wrapped with the benefits of that wraping style or you will have to fight the rod from line twisting to the left (left spiral ) on every crank.

Alex, check the SU hybrid I built for Nick at 6'2". 6 foot is doable.
