Title: TRUTH SS
Post by: Marlinmate on January 06, 2016, 02:55:31 AM
Just acquired an SS reel.  Very nicely done. Have not had a chance to fish it, but she's ready to go with some braid on it.

Do you grease the drags or run them dry?  And what type of drag washer is in it?

The drag washers are individually greased (all 4 of them) with Tef-gel (thin) they are the same drag washers that come in our SG (1) and LG (3) reels. They are from Smoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooth drag. (I can never remember how many O's are in that so I just made sure I put enough.)

Thanks for the information fellow Virginian!    I'm looking forward to yanking some groupers lips off on my next trip to the Keys with it.
