Title: I would like to blame the Pelican but....
Post by: JRD on December 04, 2017, 04:34:13 PM
Out drifting Halibut last week and always flyline a bait since you never know when a home guard Yellow or lost White Seabass gets hungry.  Flyline goes off, clear my bottom rig and "Slam" my 501 into gear in a manly way.

Ummm yep that was stupid.  Pelican squawked and the reel locked for a split second before furious grinding ensued.

I spent tons of $ on the stainless sleeve, double dog bridge, 5 stack but I saved $2 by buying a Chinese stainless eccentric jack.  Nobody to blame but myself so I'm waiting for an invoice from Alan for two yokes and Jack's.
