but it wasnt when I was a kid, when I was a kid all we used was a coke glass bottle to wrap few yards of line and go fishing.
when I was holding the spinner reel upwards was 15 years ago. :-[ :-[ ::)
now my wife use to tell me from time to time, do you remember when we went fishing for the first time and you were holding the spinning reel upwards until another guys (tired of seeing me fight with the reel) who was fishing few yards away came and told you the correct way to hold the reel, and look now, we have people that you didnt knew before knocking at the door to ask you for advices on which fishing equipment to buy, why is better this reel tha the other, , etc

Just reviewing these now after going fishing yesterday, and they are SO TRUE... My butt had been dragging and I hadn't fished since Black Friday. Left the lawn overgrown and many many chores undone. Was so psyched to go that I couldn't sleep until I got to the boat.
The "too rough to fish" one reminds me of my time in Florida....I used to hear that ALL the time! Hahahaha

Reminds me of the big Spanish Blitz of 2016 at Jennettes Pier. I caught the first fish and it was then on every cast for 3 hours. It was shoulder to shoulder. You can see I had to get down low on the rail. LOL

Just saw that movie, Bird Box, over the weekend; Pretty good plot and acting for escapism. My wife is good for figuring out plots of shows and movies. She had it down when she heard the radio transmission. Me, I just sit back and watch. Bring out the popcorn. But I liked the Pflueger Medalist on the hip. I've got four out in the garage collecting dust, as well as a Hardy Perfect.

I met some few guys in Gulf Shores, they had bucket full of live bull minnows, I asked them where did you get them (thinking he bought them at the bait store), he said he caught them and keeps them in his garage (large bait tank)

A while back, big snook broke me off under the pier, I let out a nasty expeitive $#%^, then look to my right and there's a little girl looking up at me. I immediately apologized to her and the dad. Red face!
I really need to watch my language when out fishing, I had a housemate in college from Mombasa Kenya, he taught me some expletives in Swahili :o

then a good fisherman that was far from me saw me and came to the rescue, corrected me and then I started searching online for fishing tips and techiques and well, few years later I repair reels and build rods and give advices on how to use spinning reels, 2-speed reels, leverdrag reels, how to avoid "birdnests" on baitcasting reels, etc.

They are definately capable. 2 weeks ago, we had one just about spool the 130. The hook pulled with only like 50yds left on the reel and the fish did not slow down since the bite. My friend had a fish spool his new penn 130 3 weeks ago.

It is a nile perch. I was lucky enough to catch a few on Lake Aswan about 15 years ago.

Yeah, there was a video posted of a guy driving in circles, I am pretty sure this was the guy.
I am not sure what fines he will face but the tow/recovery bill might be equally painful.

some look like small common carp, or hybrids
at least one looks like completely different F/W cyprinid

Top row, fourth from the left, is a carp.
Difference can be seen in gill plate shape. And the lack of bulge going into the back. Because it is young and also it is true wild, scales and all, carp.
