Title: SG - Tiny teflon buttons on preset drag knob. How to replace?
Post by: nik33134 on December 08, 2018, 11:28:19 AM
There's 4 tiny spring loaded white teflon "buttons" that give that clicky sound when adjusting the drag, and the drag preset knob. 2 are on the side plate and 2 on the drag preset knob. 1 is missing altogether from the side plate and 1 is stuck inside the drag preset knob. I have a few extra buttons and springs but have no idea how to replace them. Also how do I pull out the one that's stuck?

I just replaced the one that was missing. It was easy, just insert the narrow part of the button into the spring, grease the free end of the spring and then insert in the pinhole. I guess it's only held in place by the stickiness of the grease, so be careful as you're working on your reel not to lose them as they can easily just come loose.
The other one that is stuck inside, in a "compressed" position, I did not manage to remove. Maybe I'll have to destroy it with a hot needle or something to that effect.
