Alan requested a report after my test photo so here it goes. Flew out of Tijuana on 12/31, arrived that evening and grabbed truck and all of the gear out of storage by airport. We fished mostly out front or in the direction of the Gordo Banks for six of the eight days. Got a tip regarding Tuna at the 95 spot near the end of the trip. We found Porpoise, but no Tuna. Most of our fish were caught tight to the beach. Mostly Dorado, But also caught some Sierra and a Roosterfish.
What worked: The ugliest jig in the bag, A black and orange thing later named Sure Thing, Ballyhoo on an Avet reel in bait mode, and The Container Bar. It was my first trip down and I had a great time. Fishing was OK, Saw Whales, Turtles, and Dolphins.
It was the least prepared I have ever been of a fishing trip, left with no notice, brought only one reel, but had a great time. We drove to Cabo San Lucas one day only to realize I was about twenty years to late.

We left him there Bryan, first time to see one in person for me.
x2 Bryan - they're an amazing-looking fish.
No such good eating, but cracker fighters.
Best to put 'em back for next time. ;)
