Hi,
I have been thinking that if we can come up an order of 50 sets of the aluminum frame and spool, I might be able to make that happens.
I have my other resource is checking into the cost.
Please let me know if your are interested and how many set you need.
Thanks,
--Alan
Hello Alan,
I am interested in two frames.
John
I could only imagine that Shark Hunter would be all over this. I bet you could get the 50 orders.
Ron
Sounds like sexy time for my 9/0. Woohoo get it done.
I think the frame would be more important then the spool. A kit that included SS frame screws and a rod clamp would be the ticket. I think they would sell if you could keep the cost down. Maybe vino able to the Tiburon International 50 series frames ($146-$171 price range)? Another thought would be adding a removable top cross bar (like tiburon did with the 50W frame) would likely be a worthy option. Personally O think making just frames, that are compatable with all 3 stock spool styles, would sell best. If you were considering spools it might be better to produce them along with wider (and/or narrower frames). You may want to start a poll here to judge interest?
That's exciting. I'm impressed at how good you are at picking the projects. I could see this being very popular with the members here, and a run of 50 should be pretty easy to sell.
I have a 115L that I'm planning to work on this spring, so I'd jump on this. The addition of a one piece aluminum frame and spool to the currently available parts would totally transform the reel.
Is it too soon to ask if you have a target price?
Oh Yea!
I'm not so much interested in a spool or posts. Just the frame, that way you could use it on cast and aluminum spools. I see a problem with spool spreading on the 9/0 with the models that have bushings and one piece chrome spools. I think the bearing model chrome brass spool with an Aluminum frame and the hot rods will be the ticket!
depending on price, I'm all over this for Five frames! ;D
The aluminum frame is the primary thing here. I see that there are factory aluminum spools, but I assume that you would need to have the later (bearing) side plates to use one. Mine is an earlier model with a one piece bronze spool and bushings.
This will be just the frame only. I will check if we can find some SS screws for each side plate.
Sounds good. The frame is the weak point after all the modifications.
I want
1-to build one.
2-to have a shot at needing it.
Come on Guys! We need 50 takers. I can't take all 50 for myself! Well, Maybe. ;)
I might be interested in two if the price is reasonable.

Well, I don't have the target price yet because we have to do the measurement of the whole reel first and put all figures into the CAD system. It takes a lot of time on R&D. Then, my resource will let me know his cost.
I hope that the target price will not be too high. We will see.
Now the question I have is the color. I am thinking silver. Because silver does not show too bad if it has a scratch. Any suggestion?
Silver would be sharp, though black would work too. What are you're thoughts on the stand? Would be possible to mill the frame to take the 50 international stand?
my opinion, silver would be best. Hopefully the stand will be part of the frame.
I personally like black frames the best. Simple and unassuming, plus it would match the black sideplates.
I think international gold might look good with the chrome/black coloration too.
I'm definitely interested in one.
Will need to have an idea of price before committing to the pre-order.

Definitely, when I know the price I will start taking pre-order.

Let's see some numbers on the cost first. I have 2 9/0s and I want to keep one original. Then I will dude up the other. Provided the price is right. Dominick
I'm in for one. Silver or black.
I'm excited about this, and we don't even know if it's going to happen.
Depending on price, I'd take two.

I sold my 9/0 to Dominick in a moment of weakness! :'(Daron, I punch out at 6/0's for my style of fishing, but now I'm having sellers remorse. Sorry I can't play with you guys on this one ;)

Mike, ya know, fortune would be finding a new wife who gives you the 9/0 frame for your wedding present ;D ;D
I'm not touching this one, all I'm going to say is I'm the lion in my house ;) ;D......Dominick, keep your comments to yourself, no need to add anything else to this ;).

Bob: In psychology it is known as "post sale dissonance." Not to rub it in but I will post a picture of it. Did I tell you I was happy with its condition? Dominick
Sal, it looks like I committed a faux pas. If so it was unintended. I am sorry. Dominick
;D I'm talking about me. You've been to my house, you know who the real boss is. ;D. I'm sure it's the same everywhere, no matter what we say.

Sellers remorse is reversible Bob. I bought two 9's this week for a Benjamin each. You want one of them?
Fresh off the truck! One piece cast spool bearing model with amber handle, I also have aluminum spool models if you prefer them. One Benjamin plus shipping. I am not in this to make money, just spreading the germ! ;) This one should clean up nicely!

I experienced this post sale dissonance when my boat left the driveway by someone else! :'(
I just bought an Everol and cheered me right up! ;)
I would for sure be down for one, i like black but silver would be nice to. Sorry about never getting back to you about the half frame Mr.Chui, i dont have possesion of any of my tackle right now as my mother is being a real pita about my stuff
Alan are these going to be full or half frames?

Alan are these going to be full or half frames?
It will be full frame.
Please note that Dom (boardway) will have some aluminum 9/0 half frames on sale very soon (about in a month). Check out his posting on site site http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=9184.msg77000;boardseen#new (http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=9184.msg77000;boardseen#new).
I will recommend his new frame. I believe it will be a good stuffs.
The cats out of the Bag Dom! ;D
Even with Dom and Tom's frames becoming available next month. Dom is only selling 45 frames.
Alan's proposal here is for 50 more. That's only 95 frames total. That's not very many to go around.
Dom's is half frame and Alan's is full. these will become extinct just like the Accurate frames you guys are holding on to.
Alan, even if you don't get 50 pre orders, I think you will have no problem selling these outside of the alantani realm. I bet they sell like hot cakes! ;D
True Dat! ;)

Really Grayson?
Your Mom put the clamp down on your stuff! I have 5 reels on the kitchen table right now! I married a good woman.
Yeah man right after she finished booting me outa the door with nothing but a bag with some clothes, money, and dip and telling me that I'm not supposed to hit my stepdad back even if he hit me first. Guess I need more reels to control my so called "anger" since I'm a threat to society. I'm supposed to get them from her around Christmas, I'm doing better now that I'm out of the picture with her. Now that I'm back at my dads I'm hunting and fishing more, closer to the beach and I've got a new lady to boss me around. She's even ok with me spending a lot of money on fishing long as I leave some for her! ;D think I might have found a keeper. Only compromise with her about anything was I had to shave my beard off.

:o Shave the beard, the woman better have good walking shoes, cause she'd be hitting the road if it were me. ;D
Chile i wish my beard was as good as yours, main problem was it was getting sticky from baccer spit and mountain dew. That sounded so redneck.........lol
Well, I can do the Dew and maybe a few crumbs here & there from time to time, but no baccer spatter. ;)
Now that's Funny! :D
How's the frame project coming?
