My best half has wanted a new kitchen for twenty years and I've been impeding that progress with all my reels, or so she says every time a box with another reel came in the mail. Well this year she put her foot down and said THE KITCHEN GETS A MAKEOVER.

So, for the last few months I, with some help from my sweetie, reworked & rebuilt part of the cabinets, tore out old formica counter tops & vinyl floor, installed corian tops & tile backsplash, new sink, new appliances and installed wood floors in the kitchen, dining room & hall. Finished up the tile backsplash Sunday and the base shoe will go down by the end of the week. Sure will be glad when this ordeal is over so I can concentrate on reels and fishing.

Contractors, especially retired ones, hate working on their own houses.

We are going on three Vacations this year.
One with the grandkids.
I think that qualifies.
