Here are the schematics for the 30H, 170, and 170H:

The right side parts are an exact match in sequence.

You can follow my tutorial here:

The difference between the 30H/170 and the 30H/170H Hi-Speed is in the drag washers, main gear, and pinion which have been identified in this thread as matching the 50H so you can get the HT-100 part numbers here:
http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=18.0

The left side is a match between the 170, 170H, AND 250 so you can follow my tutorial here:
http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=20322.0

The right side of the SMF250 matches up to the sequence of parts with the 50H from schematics:

Good Day, thanks for information! I found interesting type of magnets inside

Porthos

Your photo of the magnets (which matches mine) is additional evidence that the default factory config is as shown. As positioned, regardless of setting 0 or 10, the magnets' fields are always affecting the steel cup on the spool...they can never be in an "off" position for unrestrained freespool.

after adding reel oil to bearing and gear. the reeling still tight.
Im thinking to convert to  monomag like PMR.

Because the magnets are always affecting the steel cup, throwing anchovies or small sardines is a bit frustrating; medium sardines, macs (both ~7" or bigger) is more fruitful depending on the setting.

Riy2018,

A fellow New York City man.....

Get that reel working and lets fish the Capitol Princess on Saturday for bass or blackfish....

That reel will benefit from the 50H handle fitting gear sleeve that I am trying to get enough people to get made for this reel, 30H and 30SH.

We can get Broadway too. He is a NYC man.

Anyone else want to come up to NYC next Saturday to fish????

Saturday 11/17 forecast: NYC 44 °F, San Diego 70 °F...thanks for the invite but I'm staying put.

jigmaster501

Don't remind me...lol  SD is a great city with great fishing and great weather.

NYC has some great fishing though.

A partyboat with a heated cabin and a view of the statue of liberty can't be beat.

If you want to make your way here to fish sometime, let me know.

Porthos

East coast party boats don't allow spectra or has that changed?

One upgrade that I totally recommend is the modification of a Penn Type "A" power handle to replace the 170's factory original balance handle.

Thank you for recommendations. I also need to order grease and bearing oil. do you recommends specific brand?

Porthos

The standards are Cal's Universal Grease (for drag stack), Yamaha Blue Marine Grease (all internal non-drag surfaces) and TSI301/TSI321...
