mon;22nd dec;got to open water,too rough
mon;29th dec;same again.never wet a line came home
mon;5th jan,there is a weather window,we go 40m mark,about 6 miles

this is the rig i got off the web, changed it a bit to suit myself
60lb fluoro line,swivel,another swivel between 2 beads with 2 hook dropper,snap swivel
to connect to ss bicycle spoke and sinker
the idea is to drop down between coral or weed, take up the slack and
drift along while the ss wire spoke just touches
so i did.
1st drop i hooked up to a west australian dhu fish,approx;8kg,s
2nd drop a 6kg dhu,then 2 cod,all on the same rig and hooks

this pic is the 1st dhu,ive just turned his head and its a good battle, yummy din din.
outfit.
quantum exo 300pt reel ,rod i built myself long time ago, dont know the blank.
300m+ 20lb toro tamer braid i bought off r46chevy from this site, thks ED
i sent a sample off to paulus just fishing.
nice to cast,no problems with the knots, they were tested
summary
new reel, worked perfectly, braid, did the job as did the rig
fishing at its best.
went out the next day, very rough, same rod and reel and got 4 dorado
cheers

paulus just fishing.
80lb hollow toro tamer/bit thick,broke at 82.5lb
20lb solid toro/dia;  o.294  b/s 28.66lb
its nice line,i really like the 20lb
thanks ED,(CHEVY)

That's a lot of hardware and knots to fish a dropper loop rig.

hi markt
it certainly is,i like to try something new each
time i go out,90% dont work but the 10% that do
gives me a lift. drives me mates nuts .haha
this is a lure i made up today,its heavy,approx;4 0z
got rid of the split rings and hooks, replaced with xxx strength splits,
single hook.im going to try deep troll over a couple of ship wrecks
close to shore,about 20m deep,no current.
hope the sharks leave me alone
cheers

Looks like a Marauder.  Add another hook on the back and maybe you'll get a Wahoo if they're in your area.

nice !!

I also took some toro tamer line, 60# solid and feel better knowing the result of those tests.
this line will go on a trini gold 16 for jigging and casting.

Nice job Wallace......I like experimenting too.....it's called fishing...you never know what will catch fish...I'm still trying to catch a King Salmon on a tuna feather here in Sacramento, up until the close of season of course....
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

tarfu, when you get him, post a pic with the feather hangin out his gob
good luck
