To bad, I was thinking an ice blue would look pretty sweet!

I'd love an ice blue if available.

if tom can get you one that is bare, no anodizing, you can probably have it anodized locally in any color you want!

Or send it to Reel Colors. I think they are the company that does the custom Penn colors.  www.reelcolors.com

I emailed them once and they never got back to me

Alto Mare

Green would have been a killer color, as John Deere tractors. :(
Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Give Tom a call.  It's easier to talk about what you want.  They also do water dip price coating.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Which is better? Water dip or anodizing?

Oh by the way, that's Tom Testa.

Anyway, if that water dip thing is powder coated after, they I think they would be about the same.  If not, I think Anodizing is better.

This is only my personal opinion.

crackerman

Anodizing is about as good as you can get.
Cerakote is very good

Powder coat is pretty good amd very resilient when using good powder. Myriads of options available, but tolerances may suffer.
Hydrographics are top coated with automotive type finishes. So, anything that would scratch or ding your car will do he same to your reel.

Depending on applicator and color, anodizing many pieces is very cheap per piece. Powder is more, cerakote and hydrographics are even more.

I will see what I can find on getting it Anodized. Blue would be a sweet contrast.

crackerman

Look for "bright dip" anodizers. Regular takes the pretty machines surface and dulls it badly. A custom anodizer vs a commercial may br the way to go. The commercial one i went to wanted 80 bucks per color. Regardless of quantity. To fill the 11ft long vat would have been 80 bucks. So it can be cheap, or it can get really pricey when looking for one off pieces.

TomT

I would like 1 silver.
Thanks,
TomT

By the way, is this good enough for a pre-order or is there a sign-up post only.  If you need pre-pay just let me know.

fodf

I too would like 1 silver.

It's enough to say that there is a definite interest though!

I count 22 and 1 undecided.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.
