Hey Lee,

Been noticing that there really isn't an after market set of Handle Arm and Star that incorporate a bend in them.

This is the latest from Daiwa for an example:

Notice the bend in the arm that reduces the leverage (effectively narrowing the reel) and how the star is formed to accommodate the bend etc. It makes a real difference when cranking under load.

Food for thought and a possible "Next Generation" in aftermarket cranks.

I tried but my equipment is not strong enough to do this.
Hi, my name is Lee and I have a fishing gear problem.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

I can believe it...need a serious press to but that bend in those arms. :(

Three se7ens

Ive bent 3/8" stainless on my 20 ton press, so something like this should have no problem with handles.  Just need a set of dies:  http://www.harborfreight.com/6-ton-a-frame-bench-shop-press-1666.html

My press is a 10T, it bent them but I was never happy with the results.

I do not want to hijack the thread, but is that a new star drag Daiwa Saltiga pictured?

Is that a Japan only model, or future domestic release?
I don't know how to do everything, but I know how to get everything done.

I believe that is the next Gen Saltiga to be sold here eventually.

That looks to be a seriously beautiful piece of machinery, as was the previous generation, but I don't know about reel bearings that can't be serviced.  Thank goodness it is out of my price range.

Bearings that cant be serviced?  Blasphemy.....Wouldn't own such a reel. No matter how good it may be.
