I recently acquired a Horrick Ibbotson multiplier.....possibly the Dolphin model....when I took it apart and dropped everything into the simple green cleaning solution the drags melted into mush....would those drags have been fiber or leather?  I would like to get it ready to have a working reel....she's a little brass worn, but still would like to have a functioning reel....Bill

It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

Cool reel.  I would guess leather.  Fred, or someone may be ae to help you out if you are looking to do a restoration for a collection.  If you are going to use it, upgrade to CF.  Buy some penns that are close, and cut or sand em down to fit.  Good luck.

I would think the drags are leather. H I reels are not sought after; but, they have a rich history. In 1930 H I bought out the Abbey and Imbrie brand.
