Picked up a 235-F Blackie that is in excellent shape (no side plate cracks!), but the aluminum spool coating is not so hot.  Has anyone had one reanodized......or powder coated.....or as a last resort painted?  It is really just cosmetic, but long term something to fix.  Any pointers would be appreciated.

If you want really get into it then it can be heated up, and taken apart.  Otherwise just mask off the spindle, and clicker hub, then paint with RustOleum semi flat black and bake in oven for 8 minutes at 350 degrees.  This will give the reel pretty good protection.
