Beachmaster

I picked up a Beachmaster 155 from ebay, cleaned it up and regreased and I am ready to use it.  What type of fish could I use it for and what rod should I pair it with?  I go to the Texas coast and fish several times a year.  I fish out of a kayak and also wade/pier/surf fish.  I occasionally fresh water bass and catfish as well.  Thanks!

The reel is a light salt water casting reel. They are an inexpensive reel.  In New Jersey I have used one for back bay fishing for Fluke, Sea Bass, and any back bay fish. It is on the heavy side for fresh water. Squidder size with bushings in lieu of ball bearings. 160 & 185 are the narrower reels in this size.
As per a rod I use three older light action 8 foot Ugly Stick down rigger rods.

You can surfcast on conventional rods 8-12 feet, or use it for light bottom fishing or trolling on a 6-7.5 stick for all kinds of things with 20-25 lb test. recco upgrade drag washers to carbon fiber.
