Reel foot number ends in 76

What have you done thus far?  And what kind of increase are you expecting?

Just had routine service done at tackle shop.
I was told there is no room to add additional drag washers

Was wondering if there is another way to increase drag pressure.

I am using this reel to bucktail fluke and even with the drag tightened  it still feels loose

Thanks for you help

Hi mate,
What's the complete reel foot number? You'll have to find, using its schematic (http://www.abugarcia.com/AbuGarcia-reel-schematics.html), whether it is a well older model with one drag washer or a newer model with three. Then we will be able to have a stab at what the normal drag range is and whether or not the drag is functioning normally and not fit for your purposes or if there is a problem that can be fixed.

Cheers,
Andrew

I have one of the older single disk models. The previous owner had removed the leaf spring that makes the drag "click". Since that left more space inside the gear, I took advantage and replaced the old drag disk with a larger CF one, and also added a CF under the gear. The result was a greatly increased drag range.
