Awesome build and great pics.

Nice to see it getting use, as well!

May I ask where you got that SS gear sleeve?

Thanks for the very clear pictures of your project reel.  You got the best of the best out of that reel.  You should be very happy!   Untill the wife comes home and see,s it on the new tablecloth...... Ouch. ???
Getting to use your modified reels is even better than viewing em on the mantel! ;)

What are the differences between your hot-rodded 210 vs. a 309 reel???

Cause I have NO idea.

Thanks.

Hey Wayne,
The big differences are stock features, like the 4:1 gears in the 210. Also it has ball bearings and casts a bit better than the 309. I'd say the 309 would be a better winch on a boat, and the 210 better for the river or beach. They both take Bryan's drag kits well with a steel gear sleeve. 8)

That will depend on your particular reel. I've seen both on these 210s. I guess the easiest way to tell would be to remove the handle, screw the star off and flip it over. If it's stamped 10-60 it's coarse threaded. If it's stamped 10-505 it's fine threaded. 8)
