What is the difference between the 500 bridge and 505 bridge parts?

And while we're at it, Happy, Healthy, New Year to you and yours.

The difference is the placement of the 4 threaded screw holes on the bridge plate. Thats why those bridges can't interchange

And it is slightly larger too.  If you put them back to back it's easy to tell.  I love my 505/6s.  They do everything I expect from that kind of reel and I will even use 50# wind on fluro leaders.  I have them stuffed with every stainless part available and a drag insert too.  I caught some really nice Bluefin on that rig.

Thanks for the responses.  I knew the bridge plate and hole pattern are different from the 500, but just wanted to confirm that the jack plate and yoke were the same as the 500.

Yes, they use the same yoke, jack plate, eccentric cam and spring - but they have different eccentric levers, the 505/6 lever has a slight bend in it to match the curve in the plate. You probably know, but the gear sets and spools aren't interchangeable.

It can't be too difficult - a lot of people do it.
