could someone give me the dimension of the smaller bearing on the handle side for the SG reel?  I bought a used reel and the bearing is shredded.

never mind i got the outer bearing race out.  It is 8x13x4.

Is that something these reels are prone to? I had two of these that had damaged this bearing. (I'll admit I didnt grease the bearings but I clean my stuff pretty well and tbh I didn't use one of these much)

Ps - first time posting here so thanks for all the awesome boards, tips and techniques.

The pinion bearing?

If so, it's likely you are fishing the reel above it's design limits
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Hey Bryan, I was actually referring to the small bearing on the handle side

Tiddlerbasher

The handle side bearing will be prone to corrosion if not greased properly.

Older topic, but here's the info I was sent when asking about the bearing sizes:

Here is the list of bearings your requested.

Spool inboard bearing (SG and LG)  5ID x 11OD x 5mm thick
Spool outboard bearing (SG and LG) 5 x 14 x 5

Thrust plate bearing (SG and LG) 5 x 11 x 3

pinion bearing (SG and LG)  7 X 19 X 5

shaft inboard bearing (SG and LG) 12 x 21 x 5 (also shaft outboard bearing for LG)
Shaft outboard bearing SG 8 x 13 x 4

Anti reverse bearings would probably need to be purchased from us to ensure a proper fit.

There are 3 different sizes of SG anti-reverse bearings because we upgraded them over the past few years.
