Fishing is a blood sport!

Arty-looking shot no idea how this happened

Home safe on the dock

Now the real work begins!

No he's a well regarded local guy with tonnes of knowledge and a fast locally made boat.

Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

Dang looks awesome. It seems like your in BC, do you like tuna? Maybe we could work out a trade. Shipping may be a issue do to cost and such but I love those chicken sized Butts for eating, we just don't see them very often here in So Cal. But, RSW tuna (refrigerated saltwater) is very close to sashimi grade if not better. ;)

Fantastic butt fishing.  There's a freezer filled.

Nice fish....can you share the type of gear you used?   Bill
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

The charter owner is a Penn fan and he just bought a new Squall-I was impressed/see why others like them-loaded with 65# spectra.

Rods were nothing special 'Ugly Stick grade' 80# rods-bait Herring or Octopus on a typical spreader bar fished on the bottom in around 250' feet of water-locals anchor for this fishery so it's a bit of a production and not for the faint of heart in the heavy currents sweeping around the bottom of Vancouver Island.
