Being totally clueless, are the seven footers able to be casting or spinning?

My son has an old Seeker inshore 10-17lb trigger cast that I love.

It can be casting or spinning. I have one built for casting with cork grips and a trigger seat. The rod weighs 11oz without a reel on it. Great rod for 15lb.

The 7' blanks rated 12-20, is that a true 12-20 or could you put some muscle into it with some 40-50 lb braid? Line ratings get a little squirly sometimes. What kind of action and backbone would it have? Also I looked up the clbf704 blanks on mudhole and they are rated 10-15, are these still 12-20? Thanks.

Blanks are sold  as of this morning. These are older Long Beach blanks before seeker changed hands. The seeker spec sheet from then lists them at 12-20.  I don't think they would break using that heavy line but they would be so bottomed out you would just be fighting the fish with the reel.
I use 2 with 15lb, that's the sweet spot. Thanks Sheridan
