If the reel is important to you, it's worth fixing.
If the reel catches fish, it's worth fixing.

Are these schematics the same for the P series?  I have a p546 that I took apart and forgot how it goes back together.

The assembly is the same.  Differences are in the parts, such as aluminum vs. carbon reinforced spool.
