Lighting?  LOL, ya got's ta be kidding me  ::)
Google Golden, Golden Rainbow or Palomino trout.
That's as good as the guy on another forum who swore it was a dyed fish.

Day Four

Nate scores two nice trout.
He also missed one trout and landed a small Sunfish.

And I walked away with my head hanging in shame.
I had two decent trout hooked and lost at the net.  :(
A Smallie (C&R) and a Sunfish saved me from being skunked.

Great weekend post John!

Your love of family, food, and fishing shines through.

My question. How was Auntie Angela's weekend?

Day Five

Today was a tough and frustrating day of fishing.
I lost so many freaking lures and lost a couple of nice trout.
One would've been a stud, but he is sporting a shiny new $5. piercing for the ladies.
Finally late in the day I was able to seal the deal on a nice 12" Brownie.
I also got another decent 13" Smallie (C&R) and another Sunfish.

Today Nate almost got skunked.
He had a decent trout on the line, but it threw the lure.
I saw it clearly and it had to be 12"-14" fish.
Nate was pissed.
But his day was saved by a 4" Smallie  :D

Did some sightseeing.

Silver Thread Fall, 80'

Dingmans Falls, 130'

Went into Milford, PA to shop.
I hit up 'Fretta's Italian Food Specialties', they make a ton of homemade sausage, ham and cheese items... Simply incredible as I taste tested my way through their charcuterie selections.
Then I broke out the Visa and bought enough meats, cheeses and stuffed olives to maybe last me till Friday if I don't pig out twice a day or more.

Double up on the cholesterol medicine!

Thanks Steve,
we've still have three short days to go, and I'm loving every minute of them.

Auntie Angela is having a blast, she loves having her family visit and it doesn't happen often enough.
She gets so excited when she has visitors coming, like a kid waiting for Santa.

Besides her neighbors and work, she is basically alone with her dog. I'm not kidding about looking for a husband, she is lonely.

Ain't that the truth... Best vacation I've had in a decade.

And to think I've passed coming up here last two years in a row.
But they were coming up late summer.
I told Angela we need to come up earlier in May.

Chile,

I feel your Pain Buddy Boy!!!!

I've been fishing high Sierra small streams for trout since age 5.

And I too have knelt at the Altar of Small Stream fishing, and we all have made the same offering, of $5 trout lures to the stream Gods.

I offer this short Prayer to you.

"The Lord Giveth and the Lord Taketh Away"

Let me offer to you what Sal offered to me...  Lures!!!

Super-Dupers - #1 trout stream producer for me long term.

Roostertails in Purple or Black are like trout vacuums, try them.

Misc. collection of Lil Cloes, Lil Jake lures, Dare Devils - all have their place.

Your Weekend looks to be a great one,

Wayne,
wish I could pick your brain for a day with you on this creek fishing alongside me.
The 'How To" and 'How Not To' of lure fishing a small, fast and super rocky stream.
Example, "How do I fish these eddies?", they're all so shallow, toss a lure and instantly snagged.
Or, "How do I best present a lure behind that big rock where I saw that trout rise a minute ago?"

I've been fishing two Penn Spinfisher 4300SS, both with 4# mono.
One is on a Ultra Light rod and the other a Light.
The bail came apart on one those this afternoon while Nate was fishing it, thankfully he caught it and I didn't lose any parts.
I put it back together, and both continue to work fine.
Nate's old cheapie Daiwa reel  that has survived years of abuse by a young boy out bass/bream fishing, finally snapped it's bail spring.
It's history, gonna buy him a Penn Battle II 2000 for Light work.

I pretty much have half of the models of lures you have, and then some variety.
Only exception are the Super Dupers, couldn't find them at Bass Pro or Wally world.
I've a tackle box full of brand new backups for almost everything I have, went through the Harrisburg Bass Pro chucking 4-5 of every lure on my list, not to mention Nate's flies.

Very gracious of you, let me try one of those shiny chrome Super-Duper 502's, and I'll see if I can catch a fish on it.

Shark Hunter

You are still catching John.
I my very early days of stream fishing in Indiana on my Uncle's property.
I chose Rapala's and AC Shiners.
Small floating lures that won't get snagged in the rocks.
Those two and rooster tails were all that was needed to catch anything in that stream.
Mainly Smallmouths, Largemouths and Bluegill.
A 14" Smallie was quite the prize back then.
I have fished the Mountain streams of Colorado with the same lures and caught some very nice brook trout.
They all were Delicious.
Life is Good!

Gfish

Darron reminded me ofa deadly tactic that's worked for me on "small" water, where the fish 'er spooky and it's shallow. Sneak upstream with a floating minnow imitation( Rapala's expensive, but best)lob it into the fast current in the middle and let it drift way down to the honey-hole. Forward jerks and short drift backs'll drive 'em nuts.
Gfish
Fishing tackle is an art form and all fish caught on the right tackle are"Gfish"!

White tail on the spinners I cut them in half to make them thinner,,, crawdads with bigger hooks this hook is a little bit to big  :) good luck today!
