A few guys have asked about my first post about the shark fishing.  I am on vacation the week and we have had a little action, nothing picture worthy, haha.
The whole gang is getting together for A Thursday night trip.
Gonna be three 4/0, one 3/0, ill have my 68, 9/0, and another 20 other rods between us with kayak and  bonito and stingray for bait.
That's just us two.  I feel like this is the reason I rebuild these reals, to seem them get put to use, hard.
Anyhow, if anyone is interested, we will start tomorrow and I will be happy to post pics!
Thanks!

There is nothing like lying flat on your back on the deck, alone except for the helmsman aft at the wheel, silence except for the lapping of the sea against the side of the ship. At that time you can be equal to Ulysses and brother to him.

At a guess...Corpus Christi...and possibly sharking at PINS...?

Shark night was a complete bust, too much sea weed 8oz couldn't keep half a whiting out on the 9/0.  Did catch some great black drum in the surf before nightfall.
Tried to include pics, will see if it works.

Old painless dropped about 175 yards out.

My long beach 68, about an hour before the kayak fell of the truck onto it screwing it all up, donor reel ordered already off of fleabay.
Sorry no toothy critters, but it was a lot of fun just to get out there for the night.

I was thinking the same thing Mo. ;)
That seaweed can definitely be a deal breaker.
My life would be so much easier if I could drive right up to the beach.
At least you caught something.
I know the water drops off very slowly there in Texas.
A three or four hundred drop in the Gulf is still only about 30 feet or so deep.
At least you got to try.
That is what I keep telling myself. ::)
I'm going to start calling my 14/0 Old painless. She hasn't delivered any pain yet in the past three years.
I think the Sharks are scared of this reel.
Best Bait, Deep drops, never a click.
Life is Good!
