I want to take just a second to thank Alan, this site and a few others for the help given to me on a repair job.  I've only been beaten two times by a reel in my 20+ plus years of repairs and this hybrid from France was one of them. Good advice was given to me and an offer to help with the repair. Midway Tommy sent very precise instructions that would have solved my problem for anyone else beside me!  Foakes offered his assistance and I took him up on it.  So off she goes, mailed across the entire United States and back! Got her back, Good as new!  Thank you all. I look forward to repaying the favor.

Thanks, that's what this site is all about. The main thing is it's fixed and hopefully catching fish. I just wish I could have helped before you originally bought those new springs. We all know reels can be just like kids, obstinate and stubborn at times.
