I am looking for parts for a Newell 550 or 646.
Top bar, crossbars and screws. Anyone know the pitch of the screws or a source for them?

I believe that the pitch of the screws to mount the top bar and cross bars is the same standard thread that Newell used for all models and for their Penn reel components, so that should mean that it's the same as the standard Penn thread.  Would you possibly be able to use a brand new purple Tiburon 646 kit (frame, spool, frame screws and rod clamp kit) instead of the bars if the deal was right?

Randy appreciate the info, the tiburon is tempting,  but Id like to try and keep the weight down on this particular reel.

Aloha Puhi,

What is the width of the reel?  I may have a penn bar with screws that would fit.

Aloha Puhi,

Aloha Bryan!
Not sure the width of the reel but the crossbar is 3-1/4".

Screws are 5-40. King Bolt near me has them in 8-18 more commonly known as 304 stainless. The only thing is they aren't oval head. Six different lengths from 1/4" to 1" should cover just about any length needed. Just walk up to the counter and have a representative count out your order. For this convenience you pay .16 ea. They also have 5-40 desco (USA) bottom taps for 3.20 ea. Good enough for chasing threads. Standard flat head machine screws, no minimum. As seen on the left.

I've bought some screws from him too. He has threaded inserts for newells now too, you don't see those everyday.

Appreciate the leads!  Can you tell what the "BIG" site is?
