I found myself wondering and figured I'd pose to his to the AT Ohana... What are your preferences for applying wax to a spool before spooling a reel? Do you have a wax preference? Any other tips/tricks? Tight lines.

I use a very light coat of grease.

I usually use carnauba wax - good quality car wax - sex wax for your surfing stick - and sometimes, like Alan, just grease. Whatever is at hand.

Anything is better than using nothing. I use the liquid spray on car wax.

I've been using a light coat of Corrosion X grease for the past several years. This stuff really works if its corrosion resistance your looking for.

I've started using a lot of grease down there.  Tie the braid off to the hole in the spool then slather on the grease.
