Shark Hunter

Took a short one week trip last week to my favorite spot in the panhandle.
Had a great time. Just me and the wife.
Met up with Robin a few nights to shark fish.
He caught a nice Blacktip about 4 feet the first night.
Unfortunately, that was the only Shark we caught.
It was still fun and the Gulf was very alive with baitfish and action.
We got cut off one night, All the lines were tight and one just went limp.
A shark ran into the 80lb mono on his 9/0 and cut it like thread.
I only had 5 days to fish. Spent the days casting in the surf and three 9 hour nights on the sand.
There was no moon and the shooting star shows were spectacular.
We saw hawks and Pelicans catching yellowtails right on the shore line.
Turtles and Dolphins all getting in on the action.
It was a fun and relaxing trip with perfect weather.
I think this was the first time I actually fell asleep about three or four in the morning and was awakened by morning beach goers.
I gave it my all, that is all you can do.
I can't wait to go back. ;)

Nice vacation.
Too bad about the lack of sharks, that sucks.
Didn't give me a holler,  see how you are.

I was only there through the week. I always invite you in May.
I was really surprised this trip even happened with all the Hurricanes.
I was very Happy to see Robin reel in his first one. ;D
We had great bait, Snapper and Jack heads. Dropped them all about three hundred yards with a three rod spread.
I think they were in close. I should have did a 100, 200 and 300.
You were working on that Flat Brisket anyways. ;)

Refresh me what you are using fin nor for, bait reel?

Great pics.  Glad you had good weather, brothers.

I bring the LT-100 in case the surf gets too rough to Kayak baits out.
Especially at night.
That is my last resort to get a Casted Shark Bait out.
Wasn't the case this trip.

How much are you getting from Corona? ;D. Nice pics!
Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Daron good to see you getting out....I was back in Sacramento two weeks ago, caught a Sacramento Pike (Squawfish) but nothing else.....the guy I was going to fish with got called out at the last minute and we couldnt use his boat......Bill
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

I caught my First Shark wearing that Corona Shirt.
My Mom Gave it to me years ago.
I would however take a 12 pack for the endorsement. ;)

Thanks Bill,
I do get out once in a while.
I caught a nice whiting surf casting, but no pic in waist deep water.
Had plenty of hookups, but by the time I waded back to shore for my pliers, they would get off.
I'm not comfortable reeling in a fish in chest high water with all those sharp hooks.

Daron, I'm glad you had a relaxing trip. Too bad about the sharks. Keep it up the sharks will come!
