   Here is pretty much the scene that is common to halibut anglers who wnat to keep the larger fish.   I,m not disdaining it, nor promoting the video .   Its just information sharing.   And worth a view.

See how the bangstick calmed that big butt down right away?  IMHO they should've used the bangstick first, not the harpoon.  But that's just a little old guy here worrying about anyone being hurt or dragged overboard by a big one.  To each his own, within the law, whether you eat 'em or release 'em and how you subdue 'em.
