Good afternoon!  I got this reel in and have not seen one before like it.  The level wind is unique.  It appears that it is malfunctioning but I can't find anything wrong with it given I have no baseline knowledge with one.  Any help or comments would be appreciated.

Your links don't work for me, but I believe that reel has a unique disengaging level wind to reduce drag when casting. The level wind stays fixed when casting in free spool and engages once you start to reel. Pretty neat...

you are right.  I found that the engagement lever is broken so it was not going into position properly. I acts like a dog on the bottom ratchet under the main gear.  Definitely new system to me.  Lets see if it works!
