Here's a couple of new additions to my arsenal. Mint condition Penn 12/0 and a Harnell unlimited class rod. They go pretty good together.

There's nothing wrong with a few "F's" on your record....Food, Fun, Flowers, Fishing, Friends, and Fun....to name just a few !

Match made in heaven, great find Mike! Looks like someone had high hopes for some big game fishing and just never made it

Mike,
That is a very nice Unlimited,,,,,,
And  thought my 2580  100 wt was in good shape ::)
There is nothing like lying flat on your back on the deck, alone except for the helmsman aft at the wheel, silence except for the lapping of the sea against the side of the ship. At that time you can be equal to Ulysses and brother to him.

I've just scored a 9/0 and now I've got to find something BIGGER :( ;D ;D ;D ;D

Other than the condition of this rig there is something else that is unusual about it. Anyone care to take a stab at at it?

That is one sweet looking Harnell!

I am not seeing anything special about the reel seat, other then then maybe the size?

My Harnell has a smaller diameter seat, but similar sized guides.

John yours is an RS-5 so smaller and yours is the older compression fit and doesn't have the "H" for heavy. His is RS-6H. But Mike like John I don't see anything unusual about your reel seat ?   Let's have it !     John Taylor

I don't know how you do it Mike, but that's an incredible find.
