Adam/Members - (I'm still getting use to posting photos w/ flickr so bear w/ me)

I installed the new offset handle on my US113N last night...overall I'm pleased but I have a little input that I'm assuming I'm not the first on...

First we'll start with some pics from last night and I'll post a tidbit of info/thoughts along the way.

Adam - If you'd rather I didn't post this up then let me know...

First and foremost, I love the way the handle makes the reel feel.  It took some 'wobble' out of the cranking that I was getting before.  I'll attribute that to the offset.  The slightly longer O.C. hole dimension is exactly what I've been looking for due to using this reel for deep-dropping for tilefish.

Now onto the quick review...

Right after I took it out of the package I held it up...

Next comparison shots of the handle arms w/ no handles...

Now for a bit of pre-install testing and fitment checks...

And here is where I started to get a little curious about the final assembly...The Motive screw is a bit shorter, while the head is 'longer'

Then I found out that in the current design the gear sleeve/handle nut cap is not usable with this hole placement...

Here are two options for hole locations due to the gear sleeve / handle nut cap, once tightened with the small screw, keeping the nut from turning.

Here are some photos of it all assembled...No comments about the messy garage! ;D

I'd love to be able to use the nut cover to keep salt away from those areas as well as for a bit of a 'tidier' look.  But, I'll leave it as is for now.  Hoping to use the reel in January!

Thanks for reading.

Ill make it right.  Ive only sold a couple of these, and that hole location was provided by someone a while back.  I havent been able to confirm it myself, but that I know there is a problem, I will address it.   PM incoming.

Thanks Adam!  I appreciate you reading the post.  Again, love the way it feels on the reel.  I'll be using it for Cod or a Tilefish in January.  Thanks for making these available to us, I think you are our only option for upgraded handle arms on this reel.

that looks pretty good Dan, whats the total lenght of the new handle from Adam?

I never understood why penn changed the style of the handle from the Baja Special to the US Senator, on the Baja Special the handle have an offset tha helps with the wobble issue and when they started the US senator line they added a stright handle

2.75" and 3.38" center to center for the 2 positions.

These are $21 plus shipping.

WOW !!
I just saw this. I believe this may be the needed upgrade with Tom's anti reverse to complete these reels... Jeff

Adam, do you have any of these offset arms for the US Senator available? And how about one for 9/0? Thanks!
