Hey guys,

The Ocean City 112 is an older reel that hasn't been made it quite awhile.

It has a decent drag and a unique eccentric lever not found on any other reels.

It has decent drag and decent line capacity and is an excellent bottom fishing reel.

I was thinking about a frame and spool kit for these reels to breathe new life into them.

Tom said if we get 25 confirmed orders, we can make this a go.

What do you guys think, can we get 25. I am in myself for 3 or 4.

That’s an interesting proposition.  These can be readily had for 30-40 bucks. What will pricing of kit be appx? I have at least one of these and could be in.

Are the specs of that reel posted online somewhere?

I'd approximate about 300 yds of 20 mono and about a 3.8 retrieve. It's about the size of a Penn 150 / 160 / 145.

The ones I have are close in size to a Penn Delmar 285.  If the frame/spool was offered as an narrowed or extra narrowed version I would be interested in 1 or 2.

The Ocean City 112 spool is 2.5 inches in diameter & 1 7/8th wide between plates. A bit wider than a jigmaster 501. It gets narrower towards the center a bit. Diameter is bigger than a jigmaster and much bigger than the 150 or 145 penns.  It has a 2:1 gear ratio with penn squidder size drag washers.

There is also a Ocean City (Bay City Reel) that is the same size as the 112.

Since the reel is slower, but it has power.

Send me your address and I will send you the oil cap spring any thing else you need for the reel. If you want I will send you the entire reel it has a cracked left side plate.
