Should the white cog gear on the spool, the inside of the pinion, and the idler gear get oil or grease?

The levelwind gear train (drive gear, idler gear and levelwind shaft gear) should receive a light oil. To improve casting distance you should take off the idler gear, clean the inside and the post, reasssemble it and lube it. You can do this operation to the levelwind asembly with no difficulty at all.
