That's the same one I run.  Bulletproof, good saltwater performance, but I really need to step up to a 1000W unit in order to mark our thermoclines (100+fa), and deep water bottomfish (90-220fa). ...Wait, mine is this unit's predecessor, a fcv582, not the 582L.

I just upgraded my transducer and i tell you what, with the exception of the 3d side scan pics I see, my 582l is still the sheitdiggetty. I havnt had it to the canyons or anything deeper than 150' but that thermocline lines really pop on it. They are great units and like anything learning how to tune it is the secret to any bottom machine imo.
