On the West, South-West corner of Western Australia, at Hamlin bay, between Augusta and Margeret River, on march 23/ 2009 there were 80 long finned pilot whales and 5 bottle nose dolphins beached, and the exact same day 2018, there is 141 short finned pilot whales have beached then selves, they managed to get 9 of them to go back out to sea, but found 3 of them dead on the beach the next morning,, this is the time of the year when sardines hearing & salmon, migrate around the corner of the State, then head North, As far as Exmouth, with large amount of sharks feeding off of them. Salmon are being caught, on the Perth metro beaches this week. I can comment as I am know authority, on pilot whales, they say the pilot whales weight up to 1 tonne. cheers Don.
