Shark Hunter

I'm Planning three trips to the coast this year.
Week after next, I'm bringing the grandkids.
Trying to keep it light, because I know my hands are going to be full.
Keeping the gear to a bare minimum.
12/0. 14/0 and a 550ssg with two piece rods for each that fit under the back seat.

I approve this thread.

Great picture Daron, thanks!

A few questions: how do you use those copper tubes (sand grabbers?); what are the corks used for and when do you blow your horn?

Thanks, Steve

The copper are anchor weights, they've legs that bend out and anchor large baits down
The corks (white foam balls) go on the line when set and can hold a glow stick, shark takes line and you see the ball/light move.
Horn is for the kayak when yakking baits, day or night...  Warn boaters, "Watch out for me!"

Gfish

Bolt cutters? Maybe cuttin off a hook that can't be fully removed?

Kids are fun to take fishin. Had 2 here with family friends last week. Love to see how excited they get by the experience. Me and their dad full of advice and know-it-all mini lectures, the kids immediately forgetting 90% of it. Dad: "Timothy! Don't drag Gregg's expensive reel on the dock!" Me: "It's OK, if it breaks it gives me an excuse to buy an old vintage one made oudda metal". Dad: "Mathew! Watch out behind you when you're casting! Me:" Control your terminal tackle and keep your line tight"... A real work-out, but a trial and error pleasure too.
Fishing tackle is an art form and all fish caught on the right tackle are"Gfish"!

Yes, cutting the hook if it can't be removed, or the cable leader as close as possible.

:o I figured they were for cutting the chain off the grandkids later after they've been a little bit too rowdy.  ;D
Love those open face spinning reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco Cardinals)

Naw, the large crimpers next to the bolt cutters are for making restraints when they get too rowdy.
Once that is done, don't be a fool and release them, better to release the sharks than kids.

They just shine them in your face Benni.
They get no flashlights. Only Glow sticks.
John, I'm hoping you can make it down,
These two Grandkids are Pistols. ;D
No chain will hold these boys.
I raised their Dad, and He was all I Could Handle.
I see it in them, but they are still young enough to be scared of me.
That won't last much longer.
Their Names are Odin and Liam for crying out Loud. :D
I look forward to this trip.
These Boys have never left Kentucky, to the best of my knowledge.
If a Shark is Caught, Their heads will explode!
I plan on spoiling them rotten, this short week we have together.
I have 5 grandkids, with another in the Oven.
These two are ready to have some fun with Grandpa.
They still call me paw paw. ;)
I am getting old, I know.
I just want my Legacy to live on.
No trip on a boat can teach them.
I have my own way of doing things.
