I have a question about these wooden boxes that some Internationals came in. First off there is one just like this on eBay that says it's a 75 Anniversary box but I ain't buying that !!! This one i have I bought a few years back and it has what I believe to be a first year 30 International in it. It has the early round knurled clicker knob and the early International serial code that I would love to decipher or find some one who has. I am not 100 % sure that is the reel original to the box though ??  Any body out there know about these boxes ?? Randy Pauly and I had a conversation the other night about them and neither of us had answers ??? How about you John Tightlines666 you seem to be the International Guru !!! Maybe Mike Penn Chronology ??  Any input would be great !   Thanks  John Taylor

John,  I have seen those boxes withy inserts for the 30 and 50. Talked with a fellow from Penn ( can't think of his name ) that said that they were made when the Internationals first came out. They were trying to decide what type of box to put them in and ended up going with the cardboard ones. If you call Penn and ask for information on the early Internationals they will transfer you to the Pa. plant and you may be able to talk with him.

Thanks Brian I figured it was older because of reel in it . You know anything about the old serial number range ?   John Taylor
