Senator 9/0 - need some input on 'upgrades'

Thanks Shark Hunter for showing me that thread. It is infact what I want(-ed) to do to this old reel. But, you got me confused. Can I use the Cortez frame or not on this one?

Yes you can,
It requires a minimal modification.
One of the lower holes has different spacing that the ball bearing models.
It is off by a smidge.
A Drill bit through the plates and rings will remedy this, and it isn't noticeable on the complete reel.
Be aware, you might run into the bridge issue as well on page 2 of the above thread.
Some of the older models uses a smaller sleeve shaft that won't work on the modern ss sleeve upgrade.
You will have to replace the bridge with a modern one if you have the smaller shaft.
