Can some one help with getting the center to center distance between the gear sleeve and the screw for the cap that covers the nut for the Baja / US 113 ?

My micrometer here at the house just went south... Jeff

amigo Jeff,
can I ask what you and Adam are you planning to improve to the good old Baja Special?

Adam, the handles are great. Havent had a chance to load the spinner with line yet or try the drag kits.

But these handles change this reel in a very positive way.

looking good Jeff

can you tell me how much longer is the new handle arm compared to the stock one?

Alex, as you can see in the pic the handle  is longer. But not enough to make much difference in leverage while cranking.

I did mention to Adam a longer handle would be very nice. It's also something I believe is needed on this reel for a lot of us who are fond of this reel.

Lacking access to some of the tooling needed I might this winter do a small run of longer handles. I will have to make them in my forge.
Have to wait & see how it goes here.

However these handles from Adam are in fact a great improvement for this reel. Even more so for those using the wider versions of this reel... Jeff

Jeff,

did you ever found the time to make those longer handles for the Baja Special?

Alex, I got as far as buying the steel. Since then my spare time been taken up building rods. Which I have to say I enjoy immensely,,, Jeff
