I picked these reels up for less than $20 per reel, although I have seen them listed for higher. The 900 was manufactured from France and the 230 out of Japan and I believe both were manufactured in the 80's. If anyone has on any info they would like to add, please do. Thanks

The 900 is a skirted spool 400, and there is nothing wrong with that in the world. The Garcia's were made when Garcia spun off Mitchell. From what I understand they are clones only the Garcia is ambidextrous. I would really like to get into the Garcias, but there isn't a lot of information out there about them.

There is hope yet! Ron admittedly publicly that there is nothing wrong with a reel that cranks from the correct side !!!!!    ;D ;D ;D ;D

The Garcia 230 looks a lot like the Heddon 293 and many others.
