I have an old AX 200..or 300,,and I wanted to fish it again.. question is,,can I use Braid or will the line roller suffer?

philaroman

IMHO, those models have EVERY characteristic I'd consider undesirable for braid -- not just line-roller

I have a couple Shimano AX 200's, an FX 200, and my go to TX120 with braid and have no problems. Fish bass, walleye, crappie, and blue gill with these.

So will it cut the line roller?

So you have examined the roller,,no grooves cut?

You made me run out and look at the line roller and NO cuts. Been throwing braid on the TX120 since braid came out. The AX200 bail and line roller is identical as far as I can tell.
