One week ago today, Easton had a tacheotomy surgery. They had to get the vent tube out of his throat as you can't be on tose long term without complictions. He now has a tube that goes into his neck and it's held on with a collar. The oxygen hooks to that. He is recovered from that surgery and doing good, He also got the Gtube put in his stomach and now gets all meds and food through that. He no longer is hooked to IV's and without the tube in his mouth he can now get out of bed and be held or sit in a bouncy chair. Jusging from the look on his face in the pictures she sent us this week, he seems to be a lot happier, if somewhat bewildered at all the new experiences. He was so used to laying in bed that it must all seem very strange to him. If everything stays good and on track she may be able to bring him home in about 4 weeks.

I have not given an update in a while because every time we got good news, it was followed by bad news. Eastons heart has slowly been getting weaker. He has crashed and been resuscitated several times in the last few weeks. Today, he was transported by ambulance to a waiting plane to be flown to the children's hospital in St.Louis. They have a heart transplant team there that Children's Mercy in KC doesn't have. They plan to evaluate Easton for a radical surgery with a heart on standby for transplant if the surgery isn't successful or can't be done. I will give further updates when I know more. As always, your prayers for Easton are much appreciated.
