The new surf rods will have one of the thinnest diameters, if not the thinnest.
We plan to introduce them next year. We are testing the rods extensively now.
We call them as Black Hole Striped Bass Special surf rod

Here is rod weights of prototype 10'6" Black Hole Striped Bass Special surf rods.
3.4 oz - 4 oz rod: 287g (10.20 oz)
2 oz - 6 oz rod: 308g (10.95 oz)
3 oz - 10 oz rod: 330g ( 11.73 oz)

Looks great,,, :D can't wait to see you test them out ;D

Dang, that's pretty impressive. Interesting to note the flat spot at the join as well.

From some quick and dirty maths I make the lift at the pivot point in the video to be 70kg, very very hard work for most anglers to produce this level of force.

Tiddlerbasher

Very impressive :o I was waiting for the rod to explode ;D
Not too much of a flat spot at the joint - impressive again.
This would make a great pier/rock rod for the UK ;)

I am concerned about the strength of the new thin rods and I am pleased with the machine test result.
I plan to drive down to Florida to take video of our Black Hole USA pro staff, Mike Basnite' fight big tarpon in 200 lb range with the new 10'6" Black Hole Striped Bass Special rod rated 3 oz - 10 oz. He fought several big tarpon with the rod, but he couldn't take video as he fished alone.

Mr. Ksong, can you give us the estimated price of these new thin blank rods?  Just wondering? Thanks 🙏

ksong

We don't know our cost yet. But we try to introduce them at very reasonable prices so than many anglers can enjoy them. The price will not be like $500 - $1000. :)
