Good morning All, and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year...

I mentioned in the Thread: Breakaway/Coaster or Non-Traditional Reel Seat, that I am using Snake guides in my beginning Rod builds.  I have pretty much used Hardware ordered for heavyweight Fly Rods.  Two ceramic Striper Guides, a mess of Snake Guides spiral wrapped, and a regular ceramic TipTop.

These will be used for trolling, dragging/soaking bait, etc..  The type of boat fishing that doesn't have a lot of line moving in and out of the Reel.  These are all on light Blanks.  I estimate that they are in the 12# Line and 0.5 oz max area.

Are there any inherent issues with using the Snake Guides like I am??

Thanks
Steve

PS..

I can't provide pictures because I have given the first 4 away, 1 to a friend to test, and 3 to the local Goodwill Shop as a donation.

As long as they run along the bottom of the blank like a spinning rod they should work ok
