Like many of us, I have more tools than I really need for working on reels.

So I decided to put together a little mobile go-bag to toss in the camper, in the field, or on a boat.

I have never needed to repair one of my reels when on a trip — but many times have been called upon to help someone else.

Small, weighs 14 pounds.

That's more stuff than I have on my whole work bench.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

Alan, that kit looks like it ready for go time.
I have a few reel travel kites like that, but
this is just epic!

Looks like you have all bases covered, Fred.

Alan's "Go Bag" might come in handy also.

How can a 14 pound tool kit NOT have an Alan Tani wrench?

???

Am I just not seeing it?

nelz

Most I ever had to do in the field was switch the handle to power mode during a deeeeep drop trip. Alan's kit will fix many things, (especially a skunkin').   ::)

No, in the field — a regular Penn wrench is just fine — stuck into a wooden file handle.

The Alan Tani wrench stays in the inside upper shop, next to the bench that I do most of my work on.

Hi Fred,

Hanging on the wall next to the Alan Tani wrench is a wrench I have never seen before. Can you please tell me what it's used for?

Thanks,

Frank

That is a highly effective and technical tool, Frank...

One end is a typical and often used 1/2" wrench — the other end is...a beer opener!
