crabs and dabs, hulicat sportfishing, half moon bay - 1/19/2020

mostly it's just for the dungeness crab!  mom and dad really love these things.  i hopped on the hulicat this morning and was met with this!

didn't know it, but brad and dean would be on board.

it was a little too blustery to fish for sand dabs, so we ended up pulling pots.

we pulled 10-12 pots for an easy limit of crab for 7 passengers and 2 crew.

they were cracked and cleaned at the harbor, then cooked as soon as i got home.  i'll head to fresno tomorrow and had dinner with the folks.  both of my parents really love crab.  thanks again to mike, zack and hulicat sportfishing.  they run a "crab only" this thursday and a "crab and dab" trip on saturday.  go get 'em!

send me an email at alantani@yahoo.com for questions!

Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

I love Dungeness Crab.
It used to be avaiilable here, but I haven't seen it for a while.
Very Meaty and Delicious. The Shells aren't as tough as King or Snow.
I miss them so.
Your Dad looks Very Happy with those Chopsticks at the ready. ;D
Life is Good!

Good to see there are still enough crabs to fill the boat, since commercial crabbing has been open since the AT 11 th annual trip...Bill
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

I am jealous. I have had king crab, snow crab, hairy crab, blue crab, stone crab, and Dungeness is the best!
