better half's nephew came here once with his skate board.. these thing's are like fitted with abec 9 and 11 type swiss bearings and giving the one wheel a spin with his foot my bottom jaw was hanging on the ground seeing the speed of that wheel with those bearings

obviously got me thinking about it for reels but with salt water environment don't think it will survive very long and finding the right size was near impossible as they much smaller than reel bearing sizes but there are some super bearings out there and just wish there are for reels.. whether it makes a difference or not to the reel don't really matter.. i just gots to know lol

any ideas or advice  :)

Hello. I believe the ABEC scale only goes to 9... Web searches indicate abec 11 is a brand name for a wheel.  Mayhaps this wiki article  will be of assistance.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ABEC_scale    Whereas I only fish fresh water, I use high chrome 52100 alloy steel ABEC 1 bearings. (.99 cents each)
I helped invent copper wire, by holding on to one end of a penny, and stretching it way out... ;D ;D ;D

Quote from: Killerbug on November 29, 2011, 02:02:47 AMFound a shop that sells miniature bearings from Germany and Japan like INA FAG, SKF, or Koyo, probably the best brands money
can buy.

or here

For tolerance infos like ISO or Jis you have to check out the tech's at the manufactures homepage. But even the cheapest SKF miniature bearings are ISO P5(ABEC 5)

http://www.skf.com/portal/skf/home/products?lang=en&maincatalogue=1&newlink=1_1_8

But top quality is actually cheap if you know what to look for, an P5 SKF 3x10x4 Open Stainless steel bearing costs only 5.8 $

i have used simply bearing many times over the years for my bearings but never reel bearings. they are a great company to deal with and their prices are excellent
