This knot has bugged me and many others i,m sure,  there are quite a few experts out there trying to show us how they tie it.
This little video is about the best in my opinion so far.  Simple, straitforward, and less playacting.......
See what you think? :)     All comments welcome.   :-X

really nice video.  the osuna brothers out of puerto vallarta like to use the FG knot. we lost a nice yellowfin with one of roberto's knots, so i've never been a fan.  for me personally, it's less a matter of knot strength and more a matter of making sure that it just never fails.  i would rather see someone tie an 80% knot 100% of the time than a 100% knot 99% of the time.

thanks again for the video.  it's given me some ideas to play with!!!!!

Thanks ,  if my memory serves me The Boss favors the the Tony Pena Knot over most of the connector knots.
Here,s another variation to this knot,  with what the Author call an "improved version"    I havent tested it yet butt maybe for casting it would have a softer "bump" with the bumper of half hitches???? ???

Certainly easy enough to tie.    Be Safe . :-\

honestly, anything that you can tie consistently is fine by me!!!!   ;D

The best knot to tie is the knot you tie best.  A supposedly superior knot that you tie poorly is an inferior knot.
