A client from Massachusetts who I service and restore reels for sent me a photo of a Striper they had to keep.

They generally do catch and release — but every 4 or 5 years, they need to keep one that cannot be revived after fishing the canals in swift water and having to horse them up the bank.

The first rule of fishing is to fish where the fish are. The second rule of fishing is to never forget the first rule.
